Abstract: Italian Ports in the Present and Future of the Cruise Industry

This article provides a specifi c review on the Italian ports involved by the cruise industry. Some quantitative evidences of recent years, both from demand and supply side, introduce to a series of critical observations about the present situation. The article also describes the current corporate structure and planned investments in major Italian cruise ports. The updated picture on the cruise traffi c in Italy opens at the end to some fi nal refl ections on future scenarios for the cruise industry in this country.
