“Donne in catena”: lavoratrici dimenticate della produzione delocalizzata
Abstract : ‘Women in chains’: forgotten actors in productive and multi situated territories
Since the introduction of the relational turn, economic geography has started focusing its analyses on the actors taking part in productive processes, and considering the socio-cultural dimension of each economic process. In this paper, I will discuss the topic of women working conditions in Italian off-shore fi rms in Tunisia. By analyzing mobility and power relationship, I will explain the different processes that contribute to restrict women’s mobility and create new form of exclusion. Moreover, I will present the powerful discourses tied to corporate and cultural stereotypes.
Keywords: Gender, Exclusion, Tunisia, Delocalised Production.
