Il territorio cantato dai «cartografi di una regione inesistente». L’identità culturale basca attraverso il bertsolarismo
A fronte dell’indissolubile relazione tra geografia e letteratura radicata nella geografia umanistica, il presente contributo si propone di analizzare il complesso rapporto tra produzione letteraria e contesto territoriale, scegliendo come caso di studi il bertsolarismo basco. Tale pratica di produzione poetica estemporanea si contraddistingue per la ricca presenza di elementi che rimandano al territorio e all’identità dei Paesi Baschi, riflettendo il forte senso di appartenenza del popolo basco a una terra densa di storia. A seguito di una contestualizzazione storica e geopolitica della comunità basca e di una presentazione del genere letterario del bertsolarismo, sono stati selezionati alcuni componimenti ritenuti particolarmente significativi la cui analisi ha messo in luce la centralità dei riferimenti al nazionalismo basco e al tema della frontiera nonché la presenza di elementi paesaggistici e di figure narrative di carattere geografico che connotano lo spazio identitario.
A Territory Sung by «the Cartographers of a Non-Existent Region». The Basque Cultural Identity through bertsolarism
Given the indissoluble bond between geography and literature, the paper aims at analyzing the complex relationship between literary production and territorial contexts, using Basque bertsolarism as its case study. This impromptu form of poetry stands out for the presence of frequent references to the Basque country’s territory and identity, reflecting its population’s strong sense of belonging. Following a historical and geopolitical contextualization of the Basque country and a presentation of the literary genre of bertsolarism, the article analyses a few poems in which the central themes of nationalism and borders, as well as the presence of numerous landscape-related elements and of geographical narrative figures connoting space and identity emerge.
Das «von den Kartographen einer nichtexistierenden Region» gesungene Gebiet. Die baskische kulturelle Identität durch bertsolarismus
Angesichts der unauflöslichen Verbindung zwischen Geografie und Literatur zielt der Beitrag darauf ab, die komplexe Beziehung zwischen literarischer Produktion und territorialen Kontexten anhand der Fallstudie des baskischen bertsolarismus zu analysieren. Diese spontane Form der Poesie zeichnet sich durch häufige Hinweise auf das Territorium und die Identität des baskischen Landes aus, die das starke Zugehörigkeitsgefühl der Bevölkerung widerspiegeln. Nach der historischen und geopolitischen Kontextualisierung des Baskenlandes und der Darstellung des iterarischen Genres des bertsolarismus analysiert der Beitrag einige Gedichte, in denen die zentralen Themen Nationalismus und Grenzen sowie das Vorhandensein zahlreicher landschaftsbezogener Elemente und geografischer Redefiguren auftauchen.
