Abstract: Methods and LGBTIA geography research in Milan

This paper explores LGBTIA places in the city of Milan in Italy adopting a feminist research approach rooted in qualitative methods. The research also provides a number of cartographic images to questions whether it is feasible to talk about a gay neighbourhood or gay ghetto within the milanese urban space and whether this area provides an unstigmatized image of being LGTBIA. The study has mapped bars, restaurants, public spaces usually attende by the gay community and collected data through interviews of key actors active in treating LGTBIA issues.
