Abstract: From Lampedusa to Mineo

Starting from the diffi cult situations created by the landings of boats fi lled with migrants in Lampedusa, the paper offers an analysis of the complexity of the experiences lived in a Center for Asylum Seekers such as the one in Mineo (in the province of Catania, in Sicily). Together with the juridical and economic problems, there are also social and psychological ones, not to mention those related to the cultural, linguistic and religious differences.
