Abstract: Diary of borders: migrants and empirical research
The phenomenon of international migration is a field of study that often uses the tools of empirical research. This article recounted and evaluated the different phases of empirical research according the author’s experience. In particular, the article aims to illustrate the relevance of the analysis of statistical data and the construction of a “logbook” but also the risks of sampling and identification of witnesses, in an attempt to bring out the peculiarity of the geographical discipline in this field of research.
