Abstract: International perspectives on natural fibres
The decision taken by the UNO and the FAO to dedicate the year 2009 to natural fibers allowed the public opinion and the industrial system in particular to think abut the sustainability of the textile production processes. Beyond utopian desires, natural fibers present problems of environmental impact that can be resolved only with a strong alliance between science, agriculture and industry.
