Gender, Place and Culture: A Journal of Feminist Geography is Seeking New Editors

Gender, Place and Culture, published by Taylor and Francis, is a well-established geography journal with an international circulation in its field. The current Managing Editor is Lena Grip and Editors are Özlem Altan-Olcay, Katherine Brickell, Kanchana N. Ruwanpura, and Margaret Walton-Roberts. The journal publish twelve issues per year. The journal currently has an impact factor of 1.463.

Most editors serve a three to five year term, and on rotational basis we are therefore looking for 2-3 new editors to join our editorial team in 2023. The new editors will have some flexibility on start date and will be mentored into the position by editors and managing editor. The new editors are expected to start editing papers independently thereafter.

Candidates should have a broad knowledge of the field of feminist geography and of gender studies, be open to a wide range of studies submitted by scholars from all world regions, have access to e-mail and internet, and have excellent editing skills. Our preference is for people who already have some kind of editorial experience as they will be expected to take on a number of papers fairly soon after joining the journal. Editors receive an annual honorarium.

Applications should consist of a letter detailing the candidate’s editorial experience, and their vision and ambitions for the journal, plus a CV.

Closing date for applications is 31 January 2023. Further information about the activities and responsibilities of the editors can be obtained from Lena Grip. Applications should be sent to Lena Grip (lena.grip@kau.se).
