11 marzo “FGSG Coffee Hour “

Elena dell’Agnese trasmette quanto segue:

The Feminist Geographies Specialty Group will have another virtual “Coffee Hour” this Friday, March 11, 18:00 UTC (1:00pm EST, 10:00am PST).  Please RSVP by end of day March 10, here. We will send a Zoom link a few hours before the coffee hour.

For this Coffee Hour, members of the editorial team of Gender, Place and Culture will join us for open discussion about feminist publishing strategies. The goal is to begin a conversation about what a “feminist ethics of publishing” looks like. We plan on working in breakout groups and shared google docs to think about questions such as: What does a feminist ethical approach mean for different roles and stages in the publishing process (author, reviewer, editor)? How do we ensure “rigor” while maintaining a feminist approach? How to best support and protect junior scholars? How to critique hierarchy while publishing within a hierarchical publishing framework? How to push back against historic marginalization within publishing institutions?

We hope to see you there! Meanwhile, please email Nancy Hiemstra (nancy.hiemstra@stonybrook.edu) or Margaret Walton-Roberts (mwaltonroberts@wlu.ca) with any questions.

Thanks,
FGSG Board & committee members
